I tried to necktie myself the other day but the wardrobe pole gave way when I partially suspended. I'm pretty certain I won't have that problem with the pull up bar since it can specifically carry a man's weight. I'm hoping the necktie can support a hanging man, it held out last time.

My main problem next is how to effectively part suspend and not let my nerves fuck it up because I know I'll go ridged and try to stay up if I'm feet on ground. I'll have to put up the bar in a particular place. Can I lean forward with my feet in a chair maybe? So I'm at a forward angle?

Also I want to put enough pressure on the carotid to make sure I pass quickly and wondering how to do both that and reduce larynx pain as well. Can you help there?

I have all day tomorrow to attempt. Will write a note and get the bar setup.

Definitely sounds like a good setup, but you can do partial in 4 positions if you're worried about standing up. I believe standing partial suspension is the most successful out of all the positions so I would recommend to do that. I myself am not at all sure whether you will stand yourself up while unconscious but I'm pretty sure that question can be answered on the megathread. :)

I just did attempt no.2 and the necktie snapped. I thought this was going to be it, I felt the faintness creeping in as I choked but then the choking suddenly stopped and I looked up and yeah...

I decided that I didn't need a chair and just slumped down against the door which meant more pressure on the tie. Had too much slack tbh as I was near the floor. Bar is good, need a new noose and more suspense.
