It's my understanding that it's ok if there's a little oxygen in the exit bag, or if a nonrebreather mask doesn't seal 100% perfectly to the face.
At the same time, the gas has to be medical grade.
What accounts for this discrepancy? Would the method really fail if the air being pumped in were, say, 95% pure instead of 99.998?
