Venting i'm thinking of checking into a psych ward

i can't handle any of this anymore. everything my life was based around is crumbling
i think my girlfriend killed herself today, some things point to that and i haven't gotten any texts from her
i'd love to ctb but i just couldn't handle putting that weight on my family. i've heard there's a good psych ward in my city and i think i don't have any other options, i can't go on like this

If you think the psych ward in your city is good and could help you then it's worth a shot. I know other people have had terrible experiences at psych wards sadly, but my experiences have been good. I can only hope the same is true for you. Wishing you the best of luck before I go to sleep. I work nights and have been awake for far too long today.

I had fun in my time there. If youre the type that has a traumatizing home life (like me) youll find it nice. If not youll probably hate it and feel like its prison

I had fun in my time there. If youre the type that has a traumatizing home life (like me) youll find it nice. If not youll probably hate it and feel like its prison

Thank you for the advice, I don't have a traumatizing home life but I'm going through a very traumatic moment and just want a fresh start, I want to be away from everything in my life for a little while

It's sad to say that my best experience this year (and the last 2-3 really if I think about it, apart from maybe a 2 week windsurf holiday) also has been inside a mental health clinic, not a psych ward but a psychosomatic clinic tho. But it's always just utopia on a timer because one has to go back to normal life afterwards which in my case is 10 times more depressing and there's just nothing to come back to really.

Good luck however you decide. I hope it's helpful to you and you do have something to come back to afterwards so the stay might help you to engage with your life in a new and more joyful way than right now.
