I'm ready

I'm going to die alone. It's better that way. I've never had someone who's always been there for me. I think I've been looking for that someone all my life and never found them. All I have is me. I feel at peace when I'm all by myself. Functioning in society at present requires interaction. I can't function that way. I will always be taken advantage of by others and that's no way to live. I'm ready finally to be all alone.

Meowkin, often we are our best company, aren't we? Like you, I once wanted someone who was with me, body and soul. It hasn't happened. The three men I've cared about most in my life are married. It does seem sad and lonely to think about dying alone. I tell myself we all do it eventually, though some are blessed surrounded by people who care. I was with my father when he passed. Even though I knew it was coming, it was difficult. He couldn't speak, but he looked up at the corner of the room. I think he saw something there. So even if we are physically alone, I think we are spiritually surrounded. I hope that can give you some comfort.

I wish it wasn't like this for you, comrade. Being alone is one of the most crushing experiences you can have. If you listen to people talk about life experiences and things they've done you'll notice that most good experiences people have involve some kind of social connection. You deserve friends just as much as anyone else.
