Im not getting the help i need

I had kind of an overdose 2 days ago and it happened suddenly and i told my therapist about it today and i told him that i didnt plan it or anything i suddenly started to feel suicidal. There was another lady of the mental sitting in the room but they didnt take me away. I find that kinda odd because they know im psychotic but im still not getting the help i need. Im probably gonna do something stupid again but i guess whatever

If I'm not mistaken, you used your overdose attempt to get the therapist's attention - like a scream for help, right?

In the worst kind of scenario, they could decide to lock you up intead of addressing your real concerns - just to keep you from harming yourself - and then you wouldn't be receiving much help either, I suspect.

It sounds you really want help to solve your personal problems. Depending on what those problems are, do you think that you can elaborate and explain them to your therapist, in case you haven't done so already?

I didnt do it for attention i was psychotic i took the pills i wasnt planning anything i couldnt stop myself but the pills where for depression so i need them or else im gonna feel like shit the next day. so i called and told them that i finished all my medication and if i can get some more and they called my pharmacist and knew that i got them the same day and thats how he found out but i still went to see him anyways

I see! Just keep in mind that the behaviour that you describe can be seen as irrational by those therapists, in which case they may take your freedom away from you.

You are certainly in a rough spot. Maybe you could ask for another medicine, which possibly could make you feel calmer -it's just a thought

I'm not getting the help I need either. I don't know why even the people that are paid to help us are so uninterested in helping people and care so little!

Sorry to hear about that. I find it crazy how they always encourage people who feel suicidal to seek help but then when you do they never give you the right kind of support you're actively seeking or asking for. It seems like they would rather wait until you've already harmed yourself or you're in a situation that'll cause you imminent harm to actually give you the support you need.
