I tried to understand my dad. Understand why he was so religious. But the more I spoke to him, the more I realized he was a homophobe hiding behind God

All this time I thought he and I were making progress but I guess not

Well i hope he don't realise when its too late, i've never had a dad so i can't understand much about that but i didn't want to run and not leave a message, i hope you find peace with what you're looking for.

I think religions can be so deeply ingrained In people.
My parents are religious and I can't relate to them on any deeper level.
I suppose religion is their coping mechanism.
I kinda despise it because I'm more leaning towards problem-solving.
But whatever helps them I guess.

Religion can be used as a tool for lifting people up, but far too often is used as a weapon of control and hate. My heart goes out to you as someone else who is targeted by religious zeal. Sometimes these people just aren't worth understanding.
