I'm actually thinking about committing suicide because of baseless public accusations made by a security guard!

Hello everyone,

Yesterday—since I use public transport and carry a bag with me at all times (I'm disabled and autistic, so I always have my medication on me)—I went to a store. I placed my bag in a locker unit (I had already noticed the guard running toward a family in the parking lot) before doing my shopping, and I retrieved my belongings on the way out. I went over to the guard to ask if the store was a safe environment regarding stress and security (given my ASD), but he wasn't listening to me; instead, he later started accusing me of stealing my own bag—or someone else's! He demanded I search my bag to prove it was mine, but he wasn't convinced, even though I explained the contents before taking them out. Five minutes later—since he wasn't grasping the situation—I asked him to check the security camera footage. He agreed to do so after I threatened to call the police and wait for them to force him to go with us to the monitors and watch the video of me entering and leaving the store!

Because of this, I almost missed my dentist appointment! In the end, I didn't miss it; I left once he agreed to check the footage at my request without detaining me—at any rate, he never used physical force! I needed to vent, so I ranted—explaining exactly what I'd been through—about the shitty French mentality I encounter on public transport; I've put up with it for half my life (decades of forced residence in France): the humiliation, the hangovers, the lack of greetings or basic courtesy, the eagerness to cast blame, the gossip, the selfishness, and that shitty heatwave too. It's a shitty country (socially and politically), full of lowlifes and "Karens" compared to other places (even if nowhere is perfect abroad). It's even known for "Paris Syndrome"—that negative culture shock that can hit any foreigner upon arrival! So, when I told the same story to the dentists—wanting to know what might have happened if I'd missed them because I was held up calling the police and watching the video footage—they told me to stop, to quit telling them the story. They wouldn't even let me finish or ask my question; they just accused me of complaining, and so on... That was the last straw. For the past few days, I've been having extremely violent suicidal urges and wanting to send letters everywhere to tell my life story and target the people responsible for driving me to this point! I can't stand this shitty, typically French mentality anymore—this country that's become a world's laughingstock, especially since the heatwaves, the mad scramble for air conditioners, the stupid politics, the lack of safety, the senseless violence, and the absence of justice... I'm ashamed to have been born here; it's a nightmare!

France is a nightmare for autisme!!!!!!!! One of the world's WORST country!

In fact, this store is known—according to various reviews—for having an unpleasant security guard! Mind you, this isn't an isolated case in France; surliness is everywhere and frequently crops up in reviews for all sorts of places—shops, restaurants, government offices... but going so far as to accuse someone of being a thief or a criminal for no reason, without a shred of proof, and right in front of everyone... In my town, there are two laundromats run by a nasty guy who starts bellowing through the security cameras like a total boor at the slightest clumsy slip-up; he monitors customers' every move—it's worse than Big Brother, and for a laundromat! The manager even comes down in person to pick a fight and give people the finger; it's typical of France—I've never seen anything like it anywhere else, not even in places with a terrible reputation! It's unbelievable.

France has one of the highest suicide rates in the world!

And it has the worst psychiatric system on the planet—considering the resources available and the sheer callousness involved: just about anyone can report you as mentally ill (especially if you are suicidal) in order to have you seized, forcibly committed, and drugged! This happens without any judicial oversight—or rather, the legal system only steps in weeks too late, by which point the patient has been rendered incapable of defending themselves and risks lifelong institutionalization, guardianship, and the seizure of their assets. All of this is true and so well-documented that European and international bodies have condemned France for its hostility toward vulnerable people and those with disabilities! The UN, WHO, European Court of Human Rights, Amnesty International, Transparency International... So, for someone who CTB here, "escaping" is like breaking out of prison! There is no kindness or support; French hotlines are traps! The person on the other end doesn't actually talk to you—they quietly call in "emergency services"!
