Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Despite learning my first language from my parents I seem to have forgotten it in childhood. I guess it was the environment, and I never talked too much. It's just so frustrating having to relearn it and I never seem to have the right words to communicate what I mean, then I have to translate from English. My poor Mom tries to give me and my sister language lessons every week, but it's going at a snail's pace. Even my sister is outpacing me and sometimes I feel like giving up. Occasionally my dad comes by to mock me and saying, "It's so easy" or comparing me to others. His tone is so subtle that I think it's a unconscious habit like he naturally talks like that. Or he does not even realize it's insulting.

From an American on this site, thank you for learning English.
We're a nation of (mostly) monolinguists that believe y'all need to give up that other language idea and just switch!

(Sorry if my lame attempt at humor offend anyone)

But seriously, give yourself credit for learning, it's not easy and takes time and practice.

Try not to take the snarky remarks from others in your house personally.
You're doing your best!
