I jumped because I was in psychosis from lack of sleep. I had gotten a cpap machine and couldn't use it and was sleeping 4 hours a night for over 3 months.

When I jumped it busted my bladder, broke my ribs, puncured my lungs and paralyzed my foot. I've had 13 surgeries and the last one corrected my contracted muscles in my foot so I could stand on my right side.

I would tell you all to avoid jumping. I cannot believe I survived it and I would wish this nightmare on no one.

Ask me anything…. I will try to answer best I can.

i was actually considering jumping as my main way to ctb- its 110 foot bridge over concrete.

how high was the overpass?

how long were u conscious/in pain after u hit the ground and what did u land on?

was it too fast to think anything while u fell or did u have a last thought- and what was it?

how did u overcome ur SI to even do it?

was the ambulance there immediately?

what position did u jump and land in?

did u have much control over ur body when falling?

I am so deeply sorry you went through such a horrific nightmare.

What you experienced reaching a point of severe psychosis from extreme, prolonged sleep deprivation is a devastating perfect storm, and standard human willpower simply cannot override a brain in that state. It is a true miracle that you survived such severe trauma and fought your way through 13 surgeries. Your strength and resilience, even after enduring unimaginable physical and emotional pain, are profound.
Thank you for sharing your story so openly as a warning to others. Sharing something so vulnerable takes immense courage.
How are you doing right now, both physically and emotionally?

I'm not sure how high the overpass was but I landed on grass instead of the concrete.

I felt nothing and was conscious per the ambulance who came within the hour to fetch me.

I landed on my back and when I jumped I just put my right foot forward and flexed it which is ironically the foot that is now paralyzed.

I had no control over my body when falling.

I wanted to make sure I didn't hurt anyone underneath me and that is why I hit grass.

I wish this had never happened and it's ironic that now I'm interested in the SN method as I can't convince my husband to work with me where we can contact Pegasos for some relief (for me).

Can't believe the level of suffering you're going through. Due to severe Benzo protracted withdrawal and akasthia I'm getting 1-4 hours of sleep a night. I can't put into words the level of suffering I'm going through. I'm praying for stage 4 cancer or a heart attack daily.

Now I know why lack of sleep is used as a torture method.

Assisted dying is the perfect way to go. I hate how difficult it is to get approved. Why is your husband not working with you?

He doesn't want to be blamed by my family. He refuses to help me travel now that I'm disabled and will not participate in my travel from USA to Switzerland. I don't know if I can do it alone now. I just want him to help me move on. He refused.

I can never understand the cruelty of some people. They would rather let you continue to suffer in pain on a daily basis than to help you get the release from the suffering you desperately need.

sorry if this is a personal question but otherwise, is ur husband a good guy and supports you emotionally? bc I can't imagine how hard it is if ur going through this and a piece of shit husband.

SN is pretty peaceful so i've heard, and you can probably buy antiemetics, beta blockers, and benzos online if you don't wanna go to the doctor. that's my plan anyway. I've bought prescription stuff online for cheap but don't wanna give any websites for fear of moderation purposes.

and how exactly did psychosis make you jump? was it to commit suicide? did you think something would happen (beyond dying)?

Hi. He's been supportive on basic husband things like groceries, home and helping me recover but he wants no part in helping me leave the USA to go to and schedule something with Pegasos to Switzerland. I am so disabled I really do need help now. :(
I don't know how I am supposed to live like this. I am barely independent and need help with everything. I can barely walk with this hardware in my pelvis, spine and leg.

I am learning the best I can on SN and may try to go that route as he is offering no assistance.

When I went into psychosis I developed paranoia over imaginary things that were not there. I wrote a 3 sentence suicide note out of exhaustion from lack of sleep, left it in my car by bridge and then jumped. It was like sleepwalking…. I was exhausted.
I can never understand the cruelty of some people. They would rather let you continue to suffer in pain on a daily basis than to help you get the release from the suffering you desperately need.
He doesn't realize he's being cruel. He is "prepared" or at least he thinks he is to help me for the next 30 or more years of my life.
I can't live like this. I am thinking SN or hanging as it's more than I can bear to do this. Ironic I didn't want to do this and sleep deprivation caused the whole situation.

Lack of sleep is the reason this happened to me. It could absolutely be a torture method- for anyone. 😫

Oh my god. That's so horrible. I'm so sorry. I... don't want to jump anymore. I hope your body heals as much as it can as soon as possible.

I am probably done. I sit on the couch and cry a lot now. I've ruined my perfectly healthy body and I am just so very sorry this happened to not only me but to my husband.

Glad you don't want to jump…. It's a horrible thing to do. I want to go to Switzerland but I can't talk my husband into helping me.

I hope you find some resolution and thank you. :(

How many ft did you fall? Could you estimate?

Best wishes on your recovery

I would estimate 100 ft but I hit grass :(.
I fell where I wouldn't hit a car coming underneath me.
I hope your recovery goes well
Thank you but I've now hit my 3 year anniversary of the jump as of 7/28/23 and I am just pasted together where all I can do is sit on a couch. It is a nightmare. :(

Its so horrible how disabled people cant even get MAID due to fear of legal reasons and other things. As a disabled person myself this whole pro life agenda is just promoting more suffering for severely disabled people

I'm just in the USA and they say don't hurt yourself or it will be worse. There is no MAID for us in any state here unless you are terminal. So many are suffering without help. I would not be able to live without my husband and I don't want to live in a rest home at 53. This happened when I was 50.
I hope no one else has to ever go through this!
