Venting i hate normies

there is a russian social media site called flymer,
it allows you to exchange anonymous messages with strangers and you can use a hashtag (like #tarot, #notowar, etc);
that day i wanted to chat with someone and choosed hashtag #psychological_help.

so, i received a message that said something like «a kind dude will listen to you and give advice». i, well, answered this dude something about having to CTB because i won't have a successful career (it's not only my opinion) and yadda yadda ya, AND — this dude straight up tells me that he struggled with his career too and that i should stop pitying myself.

the question is: CTBing is an unpleasant (or straight up painful) process which ends with — you guess it — death, so!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE NORMIES that are thinking that a person-that-is-going-to-ctb is pitying themself? i just… i don't get the logic behind it. pls haelp

What did you mean to talk about by #psychological_help ?
You want someone to listen to your problems and accept that those problems are big enough to validate your decision to ctb ?

I feel like the reason is that a lot of normies confuse sadness with depression. If you're sad over something, you can get out of it by doing something happy i.e. their normie remedies work. But depression is something entirely different. It's like a sole-confinement prison you cant get out of.

It's like your doctor prescribes medicine for a normal stress headache, when the headache you have is actually because of a stage 4 brain tumor. From the doctor's view it's just a headache either way but only you know/can feel this is no normal headache.

it's not about «different perspective». when you tell someone who is about to ctb to «stop pitying themself», it's just unempathetic and rude.

I feel like non suicidal people will never be able to comprehend what we are going through as they are not suicidal themselves. I would see it as a waste of time talking to people like that. Many non suicidal people live under a delusion that life is always worth living and they see suicidal thoughts as always being irrational, when in reality wanting suicide can be perfectly rational in a world as horrible as this. Toxic positivity and platitudes are annoying and do not help anything.
