Venting I hate it when people say things like “there must be hope if you are still alive”

I cannot stand insensitive comments like that, I think the fact that things like this often get repeated even on here shows that the site really has gone too mainstream and downhill. It's only literally good for writing down my feelings now rather than being a truly relatable and supportive place. Comments like that are just so disgusting, I cannot stand pro-lifers with their toxic positivity. I don't think this place is as pro-choice anymore as they allow comments like that, in my view ever since the video was made about the site insulting has became a lot more common on here.

But anyway comments like that are just so invalidating, it's insane how many pro-lifers believe that not having access to a reliable suicide method or fearing a suicide attempt failing means there is automatically "hope". It's depressing how pro-life delusions just get repeated on here, this should be a place focused on respecting personal choices after all, honestly it's just so horrific and unacceptable how access to painless, guaranteed suicide isn't a human right.

Pro lifers are basically NPCs. They are programmed to do a limited number of tasks caused by their program and they can't really escape it or have the awareness to realise their programming

What kind of support do you want?

I would say there is technically "hope" in 99.999% of cases, but suicide can be a valid choice because hope is often very very small compared to the pain. (I mean, technically a winning lottery ticket could smack you in the face and a lightning bolt could rewire your brain and you could meet the love of your life. . . it's "hope," but unrealistic.)

Exactly. I told my welfare case worker about my depression in how my brain constantly brings up past good memories that then make me cry, and he said I'm still young and have time to make new memories. I was thinking... dude, that's not the point.

Well I mean yea. If you tell the average person "your life sucks no matter what and you would be better off killing yourself for the sake of you own interests" they are gonna get scared. I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just pointing out that point.

i am alive only because i am too dimwitted to find a location i could jump off that would kill me within my vicinity, and too dimwitted to hide any other method's tools considering i got rope found on accident a few months back.

i really hate how people assume just because you haven't killed yourself there's still a will to live... i have felt hopeless for over a quarter of my life. it's long gone. besides, i'm so damaged. people like me aren't made for anything greater than sobstories and tragedy
