It mentions various methods but the two methods that seem to offer an exit without distress of any kind are Nembutal and using an 'Exit bag'. However the guide does not list any known reliable suppliers of N. I did a brief search online and most suppliers seem to be scams. There are over 250 known scammers online. Is there a supplier known to be honest and reliable ?? I'm in the U.K so there is the added potential problem of customs seizure unless the supply is within U.K. Essentially nembutal is what the Swiss exit clinics use ( pentobarbital). Depending on which clinic, you pay €7000 to €10,000 euros and drink a glass of water containing the lethal dose of nembutal or if you prefer have an infusion via cannula. You need to supply your passport, long form birth certificate (god knows why?) and you need someone who knows you there to identify your corpse. They claim to be 'non profit' and the majority of the income goes on admin and doctors fees. At the Swiss Pegasus clinic you don't need to be terminally ill or in unbearable pain.
I could afford it (barely) but why give €7k to €10k to a Swiss clinic (and obtain my long form birth certificate. Not even sure i could obtain it) if I can get N myself? I also would have no one to identify me after I am dead.
The 'exit bag' requires nitrogen but where the average person obtains a nitrogen cylinder is anyone's guess. So in the absence of Nembutal that leaves just two other methods ; hanging and starvation. Hanging is fairly quick in that unconsciousness occurs quite quickly but until it does there is considerable distress and an overpowering urge is to remove the rope or ligature. Starvation appeals in that (from what I've read) hunger fades after the first few days and it's non-violent, sort of allowing nature to take its course. However it does on average take between six and ten weeks. If I can't get Nembutal I'll probably have to use hanging or starvation. I could go into why I am contemplating this but there are several reasons non of which are all that interesting to others. It's not like I am young and have everything to live for. Quite the opposite.
