Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm going to a new gastrologist in a couple of weeks. My PPI and gastro meds have completely ceased to work about a couple of months ago due to extreme stress..
My usual gastro is out of ideas and just told me to "stress less"
I can't "stress less" when I am in horrible pain 24/7 and can't eat or sleep without making it worse. I can't "stress less" when I am forced to live with the person who traumatized me into getting all my GI issues in the first place. I can't "stress less" after constantly getting new traumatic events happen in my life.
I tried 10+ psych meds in my life, none of them made me "calm" or "relaxed", they just made me numb, apathetic, anhedonic, sedated.. they made me completely unable to function and I slept away years of my youth and ruined my life..
I've tried therapy for years with multiple different people, but it only made me worse.
I've tried all available GI meds for GERD.
I'm doing all the lifestyle adjustments recommended for GERD, but my main trigger is stress and anxiety which is something I can't get rid of.
The only thing I haven't tried is fundoplication surgery, but I'd need more tests to qualify for that and I can't do those because I'm stuck on PPI since the rebound reflux made it impossible for me to quit them.
I'm so fucked
Maybe this new doctor will figure something out, maybe I will be able to get the surgery somehow and it will fix me, maybe there is some other drug I haven't tried, but I am out of hope by now..
Man, sometimes fundoplication makes you unable to throw up as a side effect.. that would be helpful
with SN..
