Venting I cried over a mouse today. A FUCKING MOUSE

God, I'm so emotionally unstable that a home invading pest made me cry today. I caught this lil guy in my home, and obviously he had to go. He's a rodent that'll leave droppings everywhere and chew through things, if it stayed more would come and they carry sickness and if I didn't kill it, then my cat definitely would. So I had to kill it and throw it away but I felt so bad when I had to do it, so I tucked him into a little box like it was a grave and cried when I threw him out.

I'm so pathetic that a fucking rodent made me cry. What is WRONG with me and why can't I just be normal? I just felt bad because the little dude was only doing what was in his nature, to escape the predators of the outside world and seek refuge in my walls, only to be met with my trap I set out to catch him so I could be pest free.

Dont be so hard on yourself, I used to cry over the small things at the beginning of my current depressive episode. But now I am emotionally numb and cannt cry unless I am pushed to the edge

I'm not sure if this is the same thing that you're feeling...But I can get so disconnected from society that I develop a connection in other places. One day I had an ant on my desk. I had a conversion with him for about 30 minutes.

to be totally fair, i always had an issue with killing animals. people used to think a few centuries ago that animals where like machines and had no consconsciousness, i never understood how anyone could draw to that conclusion. imo what's abnormal is it to be able to kill animals without feeling any guilt whatsoever. It was the best logical choice to kill that mouse, but you are not weird for feeling bad, any animals (us included) don't know much better than what our biology does
