As far as I'm aware, just saying "nitrogen or helium" is not against the forum rules (I am not suggesting it be used as a method, just stating factually in a thread that it is seemingly the method being referred to, nor providing a source for it).

Unless you mean this thread's need to speak in riddles, which I don't particularly care about.
You didn't break a rule.

I just wondered if I did by letting people know that both the associated activity and 'other" CTB method had been mentioned in the thread.

OK--I solved the riddle and no, I can't provide the answer to anyone else, goes against the rules, sorry (just in case anyone wants to DM). I noticed that it's sold online. Would it require a signature for delivery? And could I get away with ordering it to an apartment address, since it is mainly an industrial use?

I don't think that it is against the rules to say the other method, that's why I said it's a type of suffocation. Personally, I've been basing the depth/specificity of my hints on the many threads hinting about DSL that exist, but that's just me. It may be against the law in some jurisdictions to directly tell people such things, though. IANAL and would prefer to play it safe, hence my basing my hints off those given for DSL.

I ordered a second jar online from eBay to verify it was also pure SN (it was), and it didn't require any special ordering stuff. The seller never contacted me, I didn't have to sign for delivery, I just ordered it and 4 days later it showed up at my residential address. So yes, you should be good to order it to an apartment address.

I live in an apartment half a mile from a brick and mortar store where it is likely sold. Haven't walked over yet. I am in my stage of numbness, where all I want to do is lie in bed or sleep. Anyway, it seems that the product should be easy to buy in person. I hesitate both because I can't motivate myself to do much of anything (see above) and for the reason that I have no experience with this activity/industry. I don't want to walk in and seem out of place.

Sounds good. Just need to order it, figure out an AE, and I'll be gone!

If the people at the store ask, you can just say you are taking a class or learning or something. Keep in mind, they almost certainly don't know this product is SN, or what you intend to do with it, so you probably won't seem suspicious, just like someone who doesn't know what they're doing. If you are very paranoid you can familiarize yourself with the trade so that if they make small talk about it you can talk to them about learning it or something.

And who knows, you might get sucked into a new hobby, I must say it is quite fun, I've been at it for a couple years now :) If you want to give it a try there are usually places which offer shared equipment you can get started on, I have my own equipment now but that's how I got started and it was great.

This is a good idea. A local community college teaches this skill. I know at two graduates of the program. I wouldn't even have to enroll in it to get an ID card, but I could tell the store people that I was in it.
