I believe that it depends on the individuals, some people might not tell their friends many important things about their lives, while others may be more open and they may share more.

I agree with everyone else here. It can really depend. Some people hide things really well, some people are an open book, I generally find most of my friends are open but reserved in areas I don't or shouldn't have to know about, which I respect.
A kind of paranoia can get to people and sometimes I even ask myself questions like this too. But as long as they're happy I try to keep to myself.
