I bought some sn and its in a thin plastic bag. To do the blood test, I must open it but I'm scared of the SN's quality dropping because of air exposure. How can I open this bag of SN and make sure its still usable?

Quickly take a small amount and immediately reseal the bag. It would be better if you store the SN in an airtight jar on a cool and dry place, not exposed to sunshine. According to manufacturer best temperature is 15-25 degrees celsius. I don´t know if it´s a good idea to store it in the fridge. Maybe someone knows.

I have but there's conflicting opinions throughout this forum bout how long it takes SN to oxidize. Some say days after opening, others say years. Title thread might be the wrong question.
What I'm trying to really ask is what the right answer is: how long it take sn quality to drop after opening?

Ok. Maybe we had a misunderstanding. I don´t know exactly how long it for nitrite to convert to nitrate. It should not be exposed to oxygen for too long. It doesn´t take seconds and not 5 minutes or so. But you shouldn´t leave the bag open for a day. So it´s ok to open the bag to take a small amount for the blood test and then close it again. I would put the bag into a airtight jar. Does this answer your question ?
