Hey guys! Didn't smoke for 10 years. Have begun again like 2 years ago. Last year I just used e-cigarettes and 2 days ago my e-cigarette got broken and I started smoking normal cigarettes again. How can I stop this shit? It's so unnecessary :(
I quit a few years back and the biggest things that helped me were nicotine patches (you can find them at most drug stores) and sunflower seeds. Changing up your day to day schedule (if possible) could also help, as well as not hanging around other people who smoke.
It definitely works with vaping.
You start with an appropriate dose of nicotine and reduce the dose very slowly. Finally, without nicotine - but then you still have "your ritual".
I went from pack and a half a day to nothing by using a vape. The key is to not smoke at all when you start vaping imo, cause the lung/throat sensation is different, and cigarettes have different chemicals other than just nicotine that keep you addicted. Quitting vaping by cold turkey was a lot easier than trying to quit smoking cold turkey for me.
If you'd like, I can recommend a modern easy to use vape that helped my friend quit this year, and a cheap ejuice site if you are in NA.
There is also the easy peasy method for smoking, but I've never read that version of the book.
I smoked for 15 years. Before quiting I bought box sets of tv shows (breaking bad, dexter, etc.), so I wouldn't become bored and return to smoking. Today was the first day in about a year that I went without drinking, so I can relate to your struggle.
