How long does to take to die when hanging? I know it matters by method so I'm using a scarf and it's mainly hanging me by the front of my neck although it is tight. I've read it can take several minutes and that just sounds brutal.

Full hanging is when you are fully suspended by the rope i.e. no part of you is touching the ground. Partial suspension is when you push down on the rope, and you are still touching the ground. A successfully carried out FS hanging will be more painless and faster than a PS hanging, but it is hard to achieve. For that reason, PS is more often used.Upvote 0
Is there a consensus on what to do those first 20 seconds? Hold breath?
