Several months ago I was convinced by some friends to come to a three-day long party at a waterpark with a broken slide. I managed to dance a few at the nightly parties and hung around the pool. Kept coming to the forum because of how much I was feeling like a fish out of water all these days.

So I wondered about y'all here, how much fun do you have when you go out and in what ways.

Depends, if its going out like clubbing/partying then hate it. But if its going out to bars/pubs drinking with a small friend group there's nothing better, so many laughs and jokes.

It's common to group these two outings if they were one thing but they couldn't be different
It's been years since I've been wondering what's so fun about clubbing when there's so much people you can't even dance (or pretend to have a seizure)

Haven't been to a party since I was 8 years old. Wouldn't want to go to one as an adult.

My party trick was to go to the party, have a lil breakdown, get even more suicidal if I drank, and then disappear without telling anyone to maybe engage in dangerous activities like in roads or abandoned places or who knows.
but I'd like to think I could crack a joke or two before that took hold. so to answer the quetion I'd say about 2/10.

Not at all. I'm the quiet one by myself in a corner. Though it's been a while since I've been to a party.

Why go to a party to pretend to have a good time with people you don't know or like?

I tend to swerve social events whever possible

Let's just take everybody on this thread, throw into a wide space with good room temperature, an open buffet with tons of produce, some coffee and drinks at a bar at some corner and one single aux cord connected to a round speaker at the middle of it all with knives and other shit to fight other people for it

We were much closer back when they first asked me to come, and I thought for a while, "Hey! I belong with these people and they're asking me out to do stuff, this oughta mean I'm doing SOMETHING right"

These sort of silver lining thoughts have gotten me into trouble before, and they probably will in the future

1/10 I wouldn't be friends with most people who'd throw out parties; parties or clubs always bore me.

I absolutely hate people, and parties are literally the worst place I could be. I sit in the corner not talking to anyone until I feel like I have been there long enough to politely leave.

I'd rather go to the dentist than to a party. Even as a child, they were excruciating. The last one I found it too difficult to avoid was maybe 26 years ago at uni. I propped myself against the sweaty wall. A classmate propped themselves against me because they were already drunk. I left after about 10 minutes maybe. I'm a total party pooper!

In the past, I was pretty fun. When I was in high school, my brother and I used to throw big parties when my parents were out of town. It felt like half the school would come. In my 20's I was out at raves. Now I feel like I'm too tired to be much fun.

I like them when I don't sexualise myself to feel worthy of anything. I am a feminist and I find it so stupid to do something you don't like for a man trying to objectify you but when im around people like that I tend to change my opinions and try to be more likeable and more open minded laughing at stupid sexual jokes because im too afraid to be seen as weird. After doing that I feel so disgusted in myself

Hmm does family gatherings count if so I rather be in a corner glued to my phone.

Tried clubbing once on my 18th bday but I didnt enjoy the loud music and people grinding against eachother. I cant dance to save my life either.

Honestly dont enjoy them, names me really anxious and I rather be with a small group than a crowd.

I'm rarely invited to parties, but during the rare instances that I do get invited, I just stick to a corner and use my phone. I can't get drunk either because I'm tend to bring down the mood when I am. I don't think anyone who attends a party wants to hear me sob over the Trail of Tears or the Chinese Exclusion Act...

I have developed a little social anxiety and don't like large groups or social settings and I don't drink or smoke, so I usually don't fit in with the party crowd.

honestly i do quite enjoy them, in the right circumstances. i do not like going with people i'm not close with. last time i did that (new year's, year before this one) was a nightmare. went with a cousin i hadn't seen in years and all his friends and didn't know anybody, it was awkward and awful.
but going with someone i'm close with, as long as there's at least one person for me to chat with while i'm drunk/high, i can feel great. i definitely enjoy the feeling of being around people, and being under the influence of something helps with my social anxiety a lot. (why i have to deliberately make sure not to do it too often, because i know i could get addicted)
i've been called an ambivert, not entirely sure what i'd consider myself. it's not like i get invited to a lot of parties anymore. oh, i do hate those super stuffy "parties" my mormon relatives throw. cannot stand holiday get-togethers either, other than halloween (but that's much different than christmas/thanksgiving gatherings, which i abhor.)
anyway, nuance, i do think i can be fun if the circumstances are right and i feel safe/comfortable enough to be myself and relax!
