Not for everyone. It shouldn't be a big deal really but people also shouldn't be blamed or judged for their unique feelings on something. Everyone should check both subforums once a day, sort by number of replies and if there are any posts within the past 24 hours with no responses, try a little harder, see if you can come up with something worthwhile for that OP. Even if it's a very small response to bump the post so someone else sees it to give a better response.

It might be enough to make that persons day.

For the most part yes. Sometimes when I put a lot of time and effort into a post, I do feel a bit down about it, but then I also realize that maybe the right people just aren't on at the right time and with many new topics and posts coming in frequently, it will likely get pushed down on the first page or even make it to the second page.

Sometimes I post something awkward and then delete it quickly because I'm aware it's weird or whatever. Generally if I leave a post up it all turns out okay, but I feel an uncomfortable vibe if it sits unnoticed for a while. Other than that I don't take it personally.

If you feel like you're being ignored, it's not the case, but it can be tricky to feel at ease if you're new. Try saying hi to some people on here, as well as setting an avatar, and of course diving into topics. You'll be a ctb master before you know it.

Trying not to have expectations is great for general things, but it's not so odd to expect... a response on a discussion forum, don't feel forced to pretend like it's not disappointing, because it can be and that's okay. :p

Not bad. People are sometimes too busy to respond. Sometimes people are too shy to respond. Sometimes people don't know how to respond etc.
