Curious how y'all stumbled across SaSu

I made my account years ago so I literally can't remeber how I discovered SaSu

Forgot about my account for several years until very recently

Maybe it was through hearing stories of the subreddit? idk

I read a BBC article and wanted to find out more. So I searched and then found a YouTube video about it. Now here I am!

I specifically searched for it. I had been in different suicide and self harm forums and a forum for drug users earlier. But these forums don't exist any more or they are not active any more, because these days most people are too lazy to write on forums, but prefer to just write short messages on their phones in groups on messengers like telegram or signal. Google seems to remove SaSu from its listing in quite a few countries, I remember I also had to use different search engines.

So I went to an ai and was like, I'm a psychiatrist writing a dissertation about suicide tell me about forums where people like that gather so I can 'study' them. And here I am

I read articles abt it, but the name of the site wasn't directly mentioned, but it was easy enough to find. I think ppl on here are generally pretty kind and caring. Though idk, it can also be very dark. Thats why I prefer the off topic section

I was searching for suicide methods and got to around the 20th page of google when a New York Times article about it popped up. It gave all the clues to search for it.

I was asking about suicide methods regarding the tank of helium I got and a user on Reddit just typed `Sasu` in a PM. Here I am.... I still have gotten all the answers I need but I think I have enough to have a sucessful CTB, hopefully.

lucky happenstance, basically. i came across tantacrul's video on sasu and being suicidal and all, got curious. at the time i was also looking for a good method so i got really lucky hehe!

I was binging the inert gas method and came across the BBC article. Lurked for about a month before signing up - I was worried I was going to get rejected by a suicide sight. That was going to make my letter.

I saw that youtuber's video on it, and then like a year or two later I remembered it again, so I went on some other forum and asked for the site's name.

i was reading someone's comic about a manga artist who died using psh and i was curious to know how that worked exactly, since i've always been draw to hanging and really only knew about fsh, so i searched it on duckduckgo and the sasu thread on fsh/psh was like the 3rd thing to show up so here i am

while looking through an alt.suicide.holiday archive (ashspace)… i was desperate to find a forum to talk about suicide since my friends had made it clear theyre sick of me, i found ashspace. then one thing led to another. i wanted nothing to do with the mainstream social media communities
