• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I only make $18/hr, my job doesnt start giving benefits like insurance until after ive worked for a full year so i still need to wait 6 months. I want to consider getting therapy or actual psychiatric help. My sister sent me to therapy once but i stopped after only 2 sessions cause it was too expensive. After I went to the ER for cutting myself i got a referral for therapy but I didnt even bother going because it wouldve cost me $90 just to go to my first appointment and get selected a therapist. I want to get help, but mental help in the USA feels constantly too expensive.

Sometimes an emergency room nurse might know of self-help groups that you could attend. Sometimes a small church might have a pastor that could offer free counseling. If there is a college nearby, you might find someone who is studying to be a therapist willing to help.

If you can swing $40 for a session, you might be able to go here: https://openpathcollective.org/
If you need, you could do bi-weekly sessions to cut costs. I am not aure, but you might qualify for Medicaid if you live by yourself. If you are on Medicaid, some providers accept that. Ypu may be able to also go to your local county health department to see if they do sliding scale for low income individuals. Also check to see if there are any non-profits near you where they offer low cost therapy. It unfortunately might be Christian counseling, but it is an option if you are desperate.

What part of the U.S. are you in, without doxing? $18/hr is actually enough to disqualify you from low-income services in some parts, strangely enough. In others you would still qualify. Are you in a major city? If yes there are most likely services available but possibly a waitlist. You have to search or even reach out to your state's Health/Human Services dept.
