  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

i'm recovering from an unsuccessful ctb. i'm always reading the forum but never posted anything, so, i decided to try some help. the problem in my life is that me and my family are very poor and it makes me have no power for anything in my life. my biggest fear ever was not being able to do or be anything. i want a job, i want to go to college, but i live in a very small city in brazil and there's nothing for me here. things in brazil are very hard at this moment. please, if you feel and can help me with an idea or even a donation, i don't know where to run anymore. i'm desperate, i want to live life but my condition is denying me that. i'll be trying to raise some money so maybe i can go to a bigger city and find a job there. i hope i don't offend anyone with this post, i'm just trying my best to have a little power and dignity

You have internet access and good english (In my opinion, I'm not native) - why don't you try with some online job like writing or even translation from english to br-portuguese? Try googling freelance job platform in your country.

You can get what you need to move while stuck where you are.

Hope this will help you.

Hi.

I'm also Brazilian. Yes, things are very hard here. Job offerings are scarce, the pandemic hit us hard, our politics are worse than ever and there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

But not everything is lost yet. The "good" thing about the pandemic, as strange as this may sound, is that companies learned the importance of Home Office. This brings us into a new era of job opportunities which we were already had but people were a little avoidant of it, thinking that it wouldn't work. Also universities are offering online classes now and sometimes it's cheaper.

So maybe if there's one idea that I can give you, try to find Home Office job offerings. Where you are living will be less of a trouble, as long you have a stable internet connection. But I warn you, companies care VERY little about your privacy, since you're working from home and they can't keep an eye on you, they might inquire about your day, if you take too long to answer a message, you will be yelled at. But it's the price to pay to work from home.

I wish you the best. We are here if you need to talk.

Can you get a student loan in Brazil ? Sorry for my ignorance
edit : you can always enlist in the army, I did some time there and its the best experience when you're young. They paid for my education while I worked for them part-time.

They don't have student loan there =(

Also, because she is a woman, she can only enlist in the army if she pass somewhat of a very difficult public tender.

How pricy is education over there?
In my country, if you have a low to mid income, the price of schooling is negligible up until university, where it becomes relatively expensive but still affordable for most (400€/year, that's like 66% of the monthly paycheck of a minimum wage part time worker, for reference)
