Have you ever lost confidence in your CTB method?

I've chosen my 9mm with hollows as my method. I felt confident until I heard about someone being found alive, and then succumbing, which is a nightmare of mine. I want it to be instant. I'm so tired and overwhelmed, I just want out. But man, I'm so nervous about slipping up. How do you go about feeling confident in your CTB method?

@Indomie89 My method will be very similar to yours. I've had the same feelings as you, however I've decided to down a high dose of aspirn about an hour before I CTB and then down SA immediately before pulling the trigger.

I think you should list exactly what elements of your plan make you nervous, and find ways to mitigate that. For example, if your worried about the placement being off you could possibly incorporate a second gun into the picture, or take a blood thinner before hand.

I was nervous at first, but just by getting my getting my exit plan well thought out, and my affairs in order has calmed me down immensely. I'm at the point where I have enough confidence in my plan, and the statistics that I'm hopeful it will work.

I know many people have lost all hope, but by holding onto the belief that my plan will be successful has made a world of difference for me.

Thank you for replying, I think I'm going to look up other ways to full proof my method. My body has a habit of regurgitating medication and getting a ridiculous upset stomach. I'm going to look into thinners to compliment my method for sure.

Firearms have a very high success rate, especially if you use a shotgun. The main block for me is committing violence against yourself, though I do wonder if poison or drugs would have the same mental block. 9mm hollow points should do fine too just aim for the brain stem. That is a scary method- that was going to be my method until I saw video fo gunshot suicide attempt survivors on youtube. I personally wouldn't use a gun as a method unless I was very knowledgeblae about guns and vwery experienced with guns- people like this know a lot better what to do to reduct the chances of a failed attmpt. In the u.s. ths method is successful about 82% of the time- when it fail there is obviously often serious brain damage and all kinds of other damage- a person can easily end up on life support for years if this method fails. It depends on how confident you are in handling guns- very experienced and knowledgeable people can improve their odds, bt it still a scary method for the cases where it doesn't work.

Yes, any time I feel like I'm close, there's an uptick in posts that bring up fears of mine. It's almost like I'm being toyed with lol. Ideally I would just stop coming here but there's nowhere else to go.

I feel that way at times too. The moment I feel I'm ready, I see stories about it going successful and then 1 story about it going wrong and then I'm nervous all over again.

We as humans are so hard wired for survival that at times it is difficult to get over that mental block. I can definitely relate to that feeling

Honestly, I worry about any method I try and settle on- which is probably why I haven't really decided on one.

I'm UK based, so guns and N are kind of out. The methods left seem terrifying- like cutting off my hand with a cross cut saw and bleeding out, or hanging- which I feel sure I'd stop- don't really have anywhere to hang. Thought about jumping off a bridge but have read people have survived it.

SN sounded like my saviour but honestly, I'm scared to even order it and get caught. I know people have successfully managed to get hold of it here but I just tend to catastrophise about everything. I guess it all points to me not being ready enough to be brave enough but I'm not sure I ever will be. It seems so cruel that we all have to suffer like this.

I think that for someone to feel confident about ctb I think that they must have a method that they believe they will succeed with and they have done research on it. In my case, the limited access to methods and fear of failure is what keeps me here in this world. I think that I would feel confident about ctb if I had the option of SN and N, especially N as that sounds like the most peaceful method, but the methods that are more easily accessible sound so horrible and risky. We all deserve the option of a guaranteed way out, none of us should ever have to worry about the method failing.

No loss of confidence--EEBD hood more reliable than Exit Bag(plus the hood is quite tight around the neck so will not come off) with Nitrogen, plus I could ramp up the Liters Per Minute gas flow to 25 instead of 15 if I choose, will lose consciousness quicker, and zero chance of any interruption also

This is my most recent choice but like you, I'm terrified of somehow surviving and being far worse off for it. Like you, I would want instantaneity and don't think ingesting or administering something is for me, because I fear in the moments between administration and result, I might change my mind...a rock and a hard place. Ugh

But I think it would be effective. I know everyone will object to that but come on. The blade is wide enough and has a very fine point. It will cut the artery very easily and I will be dead If I could do that.

But a big but I am a coward. I can't do that.

I think that is why there is text on this subject is it works as a deterrent.we read something negatory, and we immediately reverse course. Even with gun methods, it's easy to read people's acct's of "failure" with what seems to be a tried and true method.

You're right. There have been two people on SaSu recently that were successful using my method. Of course there are going to be more articles on resuscitating individuals from this method, they don't want to somehow "promote" it in any way.

I know It is tough very very tough but also very simple. Because of this simplicity, it is very tempting.

I've considered this method for a while before studying more about the structures in the neck and realizing how likely I'd hit something else that will leave me worse than I started out with. That and the fact that the CCA has numerous nerves which would make the process excruciating, and allow my SI to take over as I am sensitive to pain.

I really fear that taking 5 TCB gummies, and say as many seraquel, won't control my rapid heart beat, or nausea. Or that ingesting the first two, they will somehow counteract the sn. Or that I might vomit up the first sn dosage and then pass out before I can drink the second. That is my fear.

I will jump off of a nearby bridge. It's 219 ft tall and has a history of successful suicides. However, one girl managed to survive against all odds, though she broke a lot of bones. I don't know whether or not she became a vegetable but she did have another attempt on that same bridge which was successful.
I'm scared because knowing my luck I might end up alive just like that girl.
