Have an alternate contact for your friends on SS

Just some advice - I was pretty close with an SS member. We would pm one another at least a couple times a week. I haven't heard from her in quite some time. Based on our last exchanges, I very highly doubt she ctb'd. I would venture she may not know the new SS url.

So if you have close friends on here, it's probably a good idea to have some alternate means of contact besides just SS. Could be a proton mail account, discord, reddit, or google voice number.

Yeah the same thing happened to me, the thing is, if they didn't mention a different platform then they maybe don't want to talk somewhere else. It's like a coping mechanism, knowing you can escape this place just by deactivating your account and stuff but idk. Everyone's different I guess

I think my SS Twitter (which is the same as my username here) is fine enough for me if anyone wanted to reach me for some reason in the event that the site goes down. And that's even though I don't use it very often. I don't know if I'm close enough to anyone here to share anything else outside that though...

When I first started making Internet friends I made an alt account on fb so I could talk to them off site but wouldn't have to give out any personal info. just an idea for people that don't feel comfortable with giving people info but want to stay connected or whatever

I have a few contacts on protonmail. Love that mail provider. Have you tried going through your old messages?

Telegram is a good alternative for when the site goes down for maintenance or whatever. There's an official SS chat there too.
