Discussion Hate Getting Downvoted on Reddit

It seems every time I ask about sensitive topics on reddit, my replies to peoples comments get downvoted. If they say something and I disagree, I get dog piled with downvotes.

It really feels like a whole bunch of people are telling me I'm stupid and they hate me. I feel like Redditors have very black and white thinking and if your views are too open minded for most people on a sub they will dogpile you. It makes me feel like I'm crazy or something!

Thats because reddit sucks. I know because I use reddit and I suck. Sorry bud. The sites a very interesting cesspool. And it is tribal as hell. Just remember: Most of them are losers who aren't worth your time or thought.

Reddit is very much a hive mind on certain parts. It's why I avoid subreddits for my college major. It's a doomer echo chamber of negativity.

I wouldn't take anything from Reddit too personally, in my opinion.

Reddit unfortunately is decaying with society.
In my time, reddit used to be just like SaSu.

I came here to learn how to CTB and ended up recovering because all of you are so nice.
I avoid engaging in any platform that has recommendation algorithms, because the emotion that generates the most of it is hate.

I don't think I've been downvoted, but I understand what you're saying and I intuitively know that I better be careful what I say. I've seen a cascading effect of negative commentary when people do say something that's sensitive or, in the eyes of the Redditors, controversial. One time I tried to quiet things down. (Fortunately they didn't all jump on me, so I think I had some effect. The thread did involve suicidal ideation).

So in short, you're not crazy! Continue being brave!

You're not stupid…it's just people taking full advantage of the downvoting system when they see an opinion they don't agree with. In their minds, everyone has to stay in their own lane and no one is to travel outside of that…and if there is an outlier with a unfamiliar world view, they are to be ostracized.

Animals do this in their own way too when their own behave in way that isn't natural…and we are no different because we are animals. Just more intelligent.

That's just a reddit thing, even on normal subs asking normal things will get you downvoted to hell and back.
I wouldn't really worry about what redditors of all people have to say lol, like somebody above said, that site is full of hiveminds, alot of snarky bastards, and self-righteous twats, don't let them get to you lol

Reddit is a very terrible website and company. They use AI to farm your data to sell as well. This is a prime example of just how harmful social media is.

Without a doubt, for your own sake. It's best if you simply stop visiting that website at all costs.
