I was looking into chronic depression/persistent depressive disorder treatments and found CBASP. Apparently it is a much longer-term treatment aimed to undo a lot of the personality oriented effects dysthymia has on you/allow you to connect with others better. Essentially saying that if these patterns take years to build, short term therapy can't undo it all. I see a lot of people on here who say they've been suicidal for years rather than having specific depressive episodes so I was wondering if anyone tried it and can let us know their experiences.
Id also like to note it's not in the pinned resource guide, likely due to how new and specifically targeted towards depression it is. It's the only therapy specifically aimed at chronic depression over acute episodes and shows better results than cbt on it's own.
I'm not super educated on it so I cant give specific pointers, but if your insurance covers cbt you should be good on it.
