I remember the day when I read that he went to swim away with the sting rays and never come back...back then there was no phone-internet-addiction, good old times

Ahh that man is an absolute god dam fuckin legend. For example: ' this snake has enough venom to kill a fully grown elephant so I'm gonna go ahead and pick him up!' Never seen someone so enthusiastic about wildlife!

Who was the other one? Robin Willian's was sad
Not quite as well known, but one of the first bands I ever listened to was the metal band Avenged Sevenfold, their 2nd and 3rd albums being some of my favourite albums ever, partly just for the nostalgia. Their drummer died in 2009 from an overdose and he added so much to the band's personality and sound that I feel they've never really recovered from his passing.

Robin Williams was very sad too and very unexpected also.

there's no replacement.

but this guy makes some interesting videos too (he likes to get stung by insects like bullet ants/velvet ants, or bitten by a snapping turtle)

[warning: masochistic content]

if we're counting up celebrities now, I'm gonna add Chester Bennington :(

Yeah ive seen that guys videos. The snapping turtle one looks painful as fuck. He's good but personally I don't think he's on the same level as Steve Irwin. I'd put Steve Irwins enthusiasm for wildlife and contribution up there with what David Attenborough has done in documentarys.

Endlessly harassing animals who simply tried to mind their business is not something to be proud of.

It was one of my childhood heroes.

Made me love nature and animals and tought me to be adventourous. I got bitten/stung by bees, wasps, hornets, crabs, shrimps, red-eyed turtles and many more animals trying to imitate him. Good times...

I was living and working in Ireland at the time, the fat bastard I worked for said he deserved it. I liked Irwin, he was nuts to do half the things he did.

I liked Steve as if it wasn't for him and his programs I wouldn't have heard of any of the creatures he worked to protect

One of those deaths that really shocked me and made me sad.

I always thought a Croc might get him one day but not a stupid stingray : (
