in case no one's told you, you're doing an incredible job. even when the weight of it all feels crushing, even when getting out of bed is the biggest victory of the day, you keep showing up for your kids. and that matters more than you know.

your love, your presence, and the strength it takes to keep going through the bad days are making a difference. you may not always see it but your kids do.

to every dad carrying battles no one else can see, you are seen, you are valued, and you are appreciated. the fact that you're still here, still trying, still loving your children through all of it is something to be proud of.

My brothers dad would have been 43 this year. He CTB 12 years ago in december, and I hope that he has found some sort of peace. Remember Dads, youre loved. Youre strong for trying to stay and talking about it, even privately. Youre wanted, and your children will hold a place for you no matter what.

My dad is in the states. I fear he'll die before I spend time with him.We have a complicated relationship but he doesnt know that..Hes also sick not terminally but slowed em down a bit.

Im scared I might lose him, idk if I can handle that big off a loss.

losing parents, especially ones you have complex feelings towards, is a strange kind of grief. It gets easier as the years go on, but that doesn't mean theyre not still missed

i'm really sorry you're carrying that fear. my dad passed away from a terminal illness and one thing i learned is that having a complicated relationship with someone doesn't make the love any less real. it doesn't make the grief any smaller either. <3 sending hugs

i'm right there with you. my dad passed away too and days like today can bring all of that grief right back to the surface no matter how much time has gone by. i hope you get a few moments where it doesn't feel so heavy, even if it's just remembering something small about him that made you smile. take care <3
