What happened to me was, that I remembered it was an April Fool's day, Stayed up from 00:00 till maybe 6am all the while thinking "I won't fall into a single prank because I know today is an April Fool's day". Read the annual AFD posts on Gematsu from game developers. Read Duckpedia. Went to sleep, woke up, forgot it wasn't 2nd day yet, and fell into every prank, like that damn Persona 5 Black starring Akechi Goro. Especially since I had heard rumors that there would be an Akechi themed Persona game some weeks/days ago.
My grandparents used to do this: One of them went to kitchen and yelled "Look! There's a hare in the front yard!" and the other would come rushing to see the hare.
I still want that Deckard Cain GPS they announced years ago. And battle net love matchmaking. I remember when one year they had a Diablo mobile game as an in of season April Fool's joke and that came true - as an out of season April Fool's joke.
Btw, the reason there isn't a Half Life three = 1 half life + 1 half life = one full life.

Ugh no need to celebrate April fools day when I be suffering in silence the consequences of being born into a authoritarian state. Most of you know what country I'm talking about..
