The rope doesn't seem to tighten properly unless I pull it, will moisturiser work to make it slippy?

Ysah the knot is right, and the rope is good, just doesnt slide well, I think mainly coz im not doing it at a certain angle, I think everything is correct apart from it sliding to tighten right, I hop my moisturiser works,
