Applied pressure to the bottom of my neck w thumbs, went lightheaded instantly and a few seconds later almost passed out, my legs were shaking for some reason. I could easily do it again too without applying much pressure, tried it again now and almost passed out again, this time I felt a bit of numbness in some areas too.
Given how easy that was do you think it would be easier for a guy like me to succeed with hanging?

You can try it with the rope on the same spot. Remember to not tie it to your anchor point if it's only for practice.

Don't have any equipment yet, suicide is still just an option and not a decision.

Sorry i didn't know your situation, i just assumed. In that case you should definitely stay away from practicing. It only is a matter of seconds when it works so can easily lead to accedental death or injury to your brain or neck parts.

I've became lightheaded, slightly spotty vision and ringing ears but wasn't gonna pass out from it.
You're gonna find it different with a ligature because the pressure will come from a different place at a different angle so yes it could be hard.
Isnt it all the same tho as long as you compress the arteries hard enough? And what do you mean by angles, do you mean the position? Cant you just place it on the same spot and get it to not slip somehow?

No because your anatomy is very complex and sensitive to position, force and gravity. If for instance you're looking in a different direction with your head you can change the blood flow and or open/close arteries more. A rope feels very different on your neck than your very complex and precise fingers/thumbs. You also don't know if the ligature will stay in the exact position in partial. You'll need to experiment as this may not translate to instant results when you do it for real.
I don't think theres anything complex or precise about using my fingers, I just apply pressure on a certain spot and that's it.
You're the one with experience so I might be wrong but it sounds to me like you might be right with some things but are maybe overanalyzing some details.
