Venting growing up in a cult

I feel like it is literal cruelty to force me to continue to be alive after the childhood that my parents put me through. It's actually kind of funny, they raised me in a Christian cult which was (among other things) centered around having s*x with children. Like who can continue living after that? I experienced a literal horror movie upbringing and now they want me to what, get a job, go to university, pay taxes. Integrate into the society they told me was bad and evil for the majority of my life. Two of my brothers have already committed suicide, as have the majority of second generation adults (children who were raised in the cult). It's stuff that's too evil and horrible to live with. It's genuinely laughable and ridiculous. Imagine doing ridiculous shit for the first half of your life like having to fuck old men, being assaulted, forced COCSA, busking, homeschooling, no contact with the outside world, living on a commune, memorizing the Bible and having no real formal education. Then suddenly I have to be a functioning member of society. It feels like suicide would be the ultimate revenge. People just expect me to keep on living like there has been no harm done to me, like my brothers aren't dead. The people who have done this have largely escaped consequence. Like it's genuinely just ridiculous that people expect me to be alive after all that?? Like no, sorry, I will be killing myself.

Do the authorities know about what is going on?

thanks for your reply :) yes, there have been very public court cases + raids related to this group. their current policy states they don't support child-adult relations and it's hard to track down members (to charge them) since they frequently move countries and change their names. it's not so much a branch of Christianity so much as a cult made by an insane old dude. it's mostly died out and i haven't been in the group since i was about 15.

The only one i heard of is NXIVM. I'm not sure how the pedo stuff got mixed into it. I grew up Catholic and i never heard anything that was pro pedo but now i see conservatives all the time pushing for lowering age of consent because they say it's traditional, yet i never heard of this when i was growing up. IDK

I don't know what I would do in your shoes. Surviving in a nightmare to then having to wake up to a completely different reality, damaged and broken. I'm so sorry that happened... That is all unfair as hell. I hope those people suffer deeply for all the pain they caused. Ffs...

i've never heard of NXIVM before, but definitely seems similar to my cult via manipulation techniques. lots of celebrities were raised in it as well

thank you so much i really really appreciate it. things are easier these days, i know i will die soonish, so i'm making the most of it right now and doing pretty ok (in comparison to others at least). i have a pretty normal life, which is hard to believe sometimes but it's such a joy compared to how it used to be.

i was born in asia, the cult is pretty worldwide though
