Golden Gate Bridge today how would you do it

I always romanticized the idea of the Golden Gate Bridge. The concept of falling four seconds and landing the right way to no longer be would be fantastic for me. Since the suicide netting barrier went up it's become much more difficult or fewer people are trying or some combination of both.

How would you do it if you were going to. The net is 20 feet below the rail and stretches out about 20 feet. I thought of a quick rope attached to the rail and shimmy down it then scamper across the netting. Have to avoid people trying to stop you on patrol and they're watching for such behavior but the numbers show it's still possible in some way.

I heard landing on the net is extremely painful so much so that people don't get up and jump off. I would assume there are several very tall buildings in SF that have roof access and isn't there another bridge in SF just not the Golden Gate one?

Most tall buildings don't let you very high up. And if they do there is tall fences/tough glass all around the viewing area and locked windows plus doors. Security too. Also in sf you might very well hit someone below during the day. At night it will be locked up. In my experience at least.

I tried to find a spot in a building. It's hard.

I assumed it would be hard with not hitting people but I thought the rooftop bars were pretty open besides security so you could always run and jump. I'm scared of heights so idk, I would be too scared to hit someone or something and feel the pain and not die instantly so jumping doesn't work for me

I guess that would work if its high enough. Would probably traumatize quite a few people up there and below. And yeah hitting someone is a real risk if you hurry to jump.

So does the golden gate bridge. You got patrols, a fence which cuts your jumping distance and possibly injuries you. It also increases time help has to get to you, and lots of random people go by that might see it

Isn't there another big bridge in sf that's not the golden gate one? I forgot the name but I don't believe they have the fence yet

If I were a resident of the USA, I wouldn't even bother to check out the Golden Gate bridge or any other piece of infrastructure in S.F. My destination would be the Grand Canyon - plenty of appropriate & scenic opportunity there. I'm going to Eastbourne (UK) in May to check out Beachy Head & see what it feels like to stand on the edge.

Don't choose a method by romanticization. Many people survive the initial impact from the Golden Gate Bridge and drown. Try holding your breath until you can't anymore. Then imagine that, plus choking, and pain from broken legs or back or neck. Not always a clean way to go out
