i plan to go through shallow water blackout. i'll be high, and before i attempt this im going to do sit ups, take 20 deep fast breaths and submerge. im not sure how likely it is this will work, but ive spent weeks researching through different sources and scientific websites.

anyhow, there's somebody that was very important to me that id like them to know i've done this after it's happened. though, i don't want to send a text before because that's risky + sounds super guilt trippy or like im trying to somehow gain attention from them. is there anyway i can indirectly say something or what? letters are out the question because once id mail it it would be embarrassing if i failed.

advice on how to relay a message without sounding like a complete piece of shit and keep it respectful and straight forward & advice in my ctb method?

I've never heard from this method but it sounds pretty damn unreliable. How is there even research on this?

In regards to letting people know: You can send planned e-mails. If it somehow doesn't go as you planned you can simply cancel before it's scheduled to send.

state that the person you're sending it to had no implications of your ctb (if that is the case) and reassure them with positive words that make them understand why you have chosen this way. Think of it as an email, is what I would think about.
For messages I don't know what socials you are using, I use beeper, which has all my socials into one, and gives me an option to send messages at certain dates

sorry i responded to the wrong person but i deleted it. imessage also has the scheduled message thing so maybe i will do that, it just feels shitty to leave a message like that

im essentially drowning myself, but i think the specific act of shallow water blackout is more reliable. i'll lyk if it dosent work by tmrw this time though

I agree it sounds sketchy, but apparently there is…

i think you should look into enhanced swb, this is the method i think im going to use. swb by itself seems alot easier said than done.

I know, ctb by itself is pretty shitty, but it's the answer we can only see reasonable.
I'd feel to guilty to write anything if I would do it.
i don't think i'm going to write anymore honestly

Sorry to hear. I think it's just one of those methods like the night-night method that you can get lucky with (which is atypical) or not.

Yeah it's a really stupid idea. If you really wanna drown why not just anchor yourself?
sounds like a horrible and painful experience lmao. the point is to pass out in the water so you dont get that air hunger that comes with drowning. its not hard to make yourself blackout, most people do it by hyperventilating i just did not do it right.

And you always blackout long enough? What if you wake up half way? What if somebody sees you? It's shallow water after all.

Anchoring down may be painful, but it's effective.

i would be doing this in bathtub. id be alone for hours on hours, and if youve truly depleted your oxygen you will not wake up mid way when inhaling the water unconsciously, its not possible. i've gone down all the rabbit holes. im going to add an extra ~15-20 seconds to my breath hold and 2 minutes to my hyperventilation every day, aswell as adding more sets to working out🤷‍♀️ its gotta work at some point, shallow water blackout takes 20% of all drowning deaths and it happens so frequently

You're making it sound like you're going to the gym haha. Holding your breath without anything holding you down will always make you come up prematurely.
I'll see you tomorrow after it fails again 👋
