Ever since I joined this forum I've been thinking of jumping into the water on a cold winter night. But when the winter comes I just can't do it. So I'm thinking when the winter comes of just going out into the cold, pouring a bottle of water on myself, and waiting till I succumb to Hypothermia. How cold does it need to be? Will I have the willpower just to sit there and wait to die? How long will it take?

don't do it. it will not work unless you can take some drugs to put you in a coma first.

Any combination of common drugs? I only have access to what my mom buys.

Google says that hypothermia can kill someone in either as little as one hour, or as long as weeks. Considering you're not in the alps, I'd say it woud be towards the latter.

Unless you intend to sit out in the cold for what could probably be days, I'd look for another method.

NGL that sounds brutal and maybe a little metal. I wouldn't advise that because the sting from the cold would be excruciating. like thousands of exacto knifes stabbing everywhere.

No. I have tried. Many people say it's painless but in my experience, it felt like ice crystals were embedding themselves into my skin and the shivering was horrible. It's not painful per se, but it is the most uncomfortable thing I have felt in my life. I'm lucky that I didn't get frostbite and have to get amputations or get organ damage.

Temperature was -35C (-30F) for anyone wondering.
