I don't have any hope anymore and feel I don't have much time left before CBT, and I'm thinking I might as well try to use my death to do some good, apparently most life insurance companies have a minimum of 2 years since contract for paying out for suicides. Is it a bad idea to get one with my close friend as the beneficiary? I think it'd look suspicious for someone as young as me to get life insurance, but maybe they don't care?
Waiting 2 more years seems difficult too but I think I can manage it by dissociating more

So I have to marry my friend first? I wouldn't mind doing that I guess

Uh I think this part is going to be more difficult than I thought because she's very opposed to me killing myself, and thinks going along with my insurance plan would be encouraging me I guess

No you can name anyone as your beficiary it doesn't have to be a spouse or relative. If you're insuring your life not your friend's you're the insured. You may want to have a will as well that states you want them to be your sole beneficiary as well. People name their pets, charities and strangers as beneficiary. Be aware insurance companies will fight any suicide especially if it occurs a short time after the suicide clause is null. If they can convince a judge that you knowingly took out a policy intending to die they may not have to pay. So make sure you erase and footprint where you talk about suicide or specific plans.

Ah I see the wording on that page was confusing, I still think it'd look quite suspicious to the life insurance company to have my friend that doesn't depend on me as a beneficiary though? I might get a higher price for the suspicious circumstances since life insurance companies put a lot of effort into calculating risks. Probably better to marry her just for this anyway I think

Honestly even if you marry if you commit suicide 2yrs and 2,3,4 etc... months from now its going to look suspicious. Life insurance is generally calculated on age, lifestyle, and health. If you're young it's gonna be fairly cheap. A couple things some companies require health screenings and copies of health records. They don't really care who the beficiary is as long as it's legal. If you're worried tell them you want to start building your portfolio and you're estranged from your family. (Life insurance is usually considered a financial asset because a lot of policies build equity you can borrow from.

A lot of life insurance plans have clauses that restrict payouts after suicide. Just be aware.

I thought about this a lot OP. A lot. money is a blessing. if you can bless them with it it will change their lives and leave an indelible mark on them forever. I would have eventually made this thread myself,

thing is I just don't trust Insurance companies to pay them out. I'm cynical like that. I personally wouldn't do it but you'd have to look into it more at a local level and the company you want to use.

ב''ה,
Surely everyone of importance already has one on you; this would explain Americans.

Well it seems easy, the only problem left is that my friend said she'd refuse to take the money when the time comes, but that might just be a lie to convince me not to do this idk
