I recently had a conversation with my best friend where we both agreed we would marry each other if we're both single in our mid to late 30s. She is 2 years younger than me so we'll be hitting that age bracket around the same time. I think this is a solid plan to avoid dying alone.

Well, whatever works for you. You might try it. I mean, what's the harm? You might like it, and if you don't you can always divorce. But I'd suggest trying to live together and do marital stuff together before getting really married. I hope it will work and end well.
When I was younger I wished I would find LGBTIA friends to marry. Oh well. A "celibate priest" is what I am now and how I'll leave this world.

If you want to be boring you can straight marry me if you like. You won't have to touch me or anything, don't worry. Also, I am happy to get you a ring pop if it will help seal the deal (which obviously it will, durr). However I won't get down on one knee as my joints are already failing me at the tender age of 37. Slide into my DMs if interested.
I can sympathize with having bad knees at a relatively young age. For me it was a combination of too much running and doing squats with bad form for a long time. Unfortunately, they never get better, and you learn to work around the limitations.Similar threads
