Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm meeting with the cremation funeral director today. I'm sicker than I expected today but it turns out they do house calls!
Guess today will be the day I put down a cash deposit on my own death - aside from the other supplies

I'm worried I'll get weepy and weird with him but I also keep telling myself he's probably seen it all.

Not sure what story I should spin at him cuz obviously I'm not terminal even thought the misery is endless. Figured I'd just say something like "well I've been on SSDi since July for a very bad illness and I have no intention of taking extra measures as I'm in intractable pain most days and it's only getting worse so I'd hoped to plan ahead so my family won't be burdened"
Sound legit? Idk 🤷‍♀️

I'm sure he's come across people in similar situations. Maybe people who are sick or dying make these plans as it takes the stress and worry away from the people they're leaving behind. I wouldn't worry too much about it. They meet people from all walks of life at the worst points of their life, I'm sure whatever you discuss with him he will treat with the utmost respect and dignity.

I really hope so! Every step I make worries me cuz I expect someone to call 911 on me as soon as they leave lol

I don't even have enough money to afford the most basic services but I'm hoping to work out a plan I CAN afford and at least start making payments for now.

I can read online all day about how to plan a funeral but it also takes Real planning in the end so this feels wierd

Closest I've come to doing this was dropping a friend from a support group off at the funeral home to meet her family when her mother died. From that experience I learned - Those paces creep me out so bad. So I'm glad they'll come and sit with me at home and have a chat instead
I'm considering this a Happy Barfday Gift to myself for my 40th lol

At the end of the day he meets lots of sick people who just want to make sure everything is in place for when they go. Unless you come out and say you plan to CTB everything else can be attributed to just wanting to be prepared. I know it's nerve wracking. You feel like you could be caught out at any moment but he's a professional he's used to all kinds of people. I hope it goes well for you.

Well that was uneventful - he was basically a human version of their website. No guidance or anything just a packet of prices
