I've basically only got one attempt to CTB, and a time window of maybe 45 minutes if I'm lucky. All I have are shoelaces. I've watched a video and practiced the knots over and over. Just frustrated because I can't seem to find the sweet spot. I can feel where the strong carotid pulse is, but haven't been able to apply enough pressure to become faint, so not even sure if it's the right spot. Either get nothing, head exploding sensation, or can't breathe because I'm compressing my windpipe.

try using a pen or a spoon or any stick like object when you tie the knot.
Then move the object in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction which will tighten the knot and apply more pressure than before.
Keep doing it until required pressure is achieved.

And still if you can't feel anything; may be it isn't for you.
For some it works ; for others it just doesn't.

Then you should look for other methods.

Whatever you do; do it with proper research and practice.
You don't want to fail and end up with permanent damage or injury.

Wish you the luck.

I wonder if completely restricting the jugulars would be enough. Don't really care about discomfort or pain, as long as I can CTB.

You are reffering to the tourniquet method right?

If you completely block the jugulars , blood will return back to brain veins which will give you the sensation of swelling and more symptoms.

One needs to block the carotid arteries from instead.
I tried night method for trials but i was only able to achieve the required pressure when tightening the cord/lace around the neck with bare hands without knots and loose the consciousness within 30 seconds.
When i tied the knots and even used tourniquet method ; I didn't loose consciousness.
Sometimes my legs shook and weren't in control of my brain for a couple of minutes.

I realised i was doing something wrong or it just wasn't for me.

Please do research and practice enough not to fail as you have only 30 minutes window.
