• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

So I went to see a doctor today and I finally got a definite cause to my symptoms.

I've got an anomaly or a birth defect in my brain that causes my gag reflex to be exceptionally strong. There is sadly no cure.

So now I have an answer but idk what to do now.

Was this diagnosed following a brain scan and by a neurologist?
I'm assuming it was because that's a hell of a diagnosis to make.

Yeah they did a brain scan and I met a neurologist but it still took like a year to get a proper explanation

That's rough.
I am really sorry to hear this. living with a chronic, untreatable illness is absolutely devastating. OTOH at least now you know what's wrong and you can stop being prodded and poked.

Now your treatment will mostly focus on improving quality of life. Improve symptoms if possible.

And hope that they find some new fancy ways of brain surgery - maybe in 10 or 20 or 30 years.

Sadly that's not a joke. Many patients with untreatable illnesses (especially mental or brain diseases) are being told to "wait for science to catch up".

My heart goes out to you.

That sounds really awful what you have to endure. I'm sorry that you suffer so unbearably. To me, it is so horrible how so many health conditions even exist. It is such an unfair life. I hope that you find relief from your pain in whatever happens.
