Took a small recreational dose of cough syrup and I'm feeling like I can enjoy life again for a few minutes longer. Music sounds truly enjoyable and doesn't just reach my ears but my mind and heart. I smiled for the first time in forever. Not a chuckling grin sort of fake smile at a joke or a good twist in a show. A genuine smile because I'm just relaxed and happy enough that everything has that little bit of vibrance that I forgot I even lost. I may as well be on cloud 9. I don't even want to tell anyone I personally know about how I feel because that would show just how far I've fallen. In a few hours I'll be miserable again but for now I've just gotta say it even if I'm shouting into the void: I remember what happiness feels like
