Someday, I'd like to ctb, I would prefer soon but I have cats that rely on me and I would hate to give them away. My youngest cat is 8 years, so longest I'd have to wait (assuming I get no more pets) is approx. 10-12 years at best. I know it's a stupid reason to stay, but I would hate doing that to them.

Obviously, this seems like a long-ish time and a lot could happen within that time, but I was wondering if anyone else has ctb dates/ times like this, or if anyone has previously had them and decided not to later on? I don't particularly mean a specific date yet, but a general set of circumstances in the future that would start the ctb plan.

Would getting SN soon, before the US regulates it even more, be redundant? From what I can find, curing salts generally have a long shelf life. Getting the other stuff needed for the SN method right now probably wouldn't be necessary and would be a little too tempting to have around (also I don't think online medication websites are going down anytime soon).

I wanted to live😔

I have since my early teenage years (about 14yo) the idea of not reaching the age of 25 if my problems persisted until then. Just some random number that seemed high for me at the time because I've heard a lot of people saying that we learn to live and life gets better with time. They weren't wrong. For the vast majority of people life does get better and we do learn to live and accept the things we can't change. But it wasn't my case. I'm 24 now and I do not intend to live much longer. Will be going soon.

Hope you and your cats have a good life! (They surely will if they have such a caring person there for them)

I have plans to ctb soon, but I don't have any pets. I completely respect your decision to wait until your cats pass. I think it's admirable that you're putting them first.

It is understandable wanting to stay alive for pets. For me personally, I do not have a specific date, I will likely leave when I get desperate. I am held here by the lack of peaceful/reliable way to exit and the fear of failing ctb. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.
