Falling from 20 stories

I live on the 15th floor of a 20 story apartment building, and I wanted to know if the height was sufficient to guarantee death.

Also, any advice on how to orient myself before falling/midair so I can optimally land on my head?

Yes, the height is sufficient. As for the second question, I'm afraid you won't be able to control your fall to land on your head.

You only have a 1 in 100 chance of surviving a fall from such a height. No matter how you land, the top of your spine will be fractured which will transect the aorta causing death.
It's an absolute gruesome way to die and it is one that I have also contemplated. There are less violent ways to CTB that will not tear apart your body. Please check the various megathreads.

I've contemplated this and have wondered if wearing a very heavy backpack would tilt my body head-down as I fell, provided it was high enough for this to happen.

One of my preferred methods, extremely violent and a huge mess to clean up, traumatizing anyone that witnesses it, I love it.

Remember, it's that sudden stop that causes an insane amount of damage. I want to jump off the royal gorge in Colorado. It's overkill but damn, the view is amazing.

Also, it's very difficult to control your flailing body.

I'd consider getting drunk as a skunk & jumping from a bridge into the sea though. I find it kind of romantic & I'd like to get eaten by the fishies. Guess I'm a freak too

Being eaten by fish definitely sounds romantic I think an ideal scenario would be if you are placed in a cage and slowly lowered into piranha infested water.
