Yesterday I set up the pan with the charcoals, I used a standard lighter though with market charcoal, which probably influenced in the outcome.

I sealed the air exists, took a bunch of benzos and a quetiapine and entered the bathroom. For 1.5kg of charcoal the temperature was fine, it was a cold night. I didn't fear what I was doing, at a certain point i said to myself "Fuck it", the pills were starting to take effect and I fell asleep. Woke up about 6 hours later with a lot of difficulty in moving, I could barely open the bathroom door after a long time attempting to do so.... About brain damage I don`t know, I'm a bit disoriented I guess and with a lot of body pain but it feels that it is something that will pass.

I guess next time I'll be using a chimney starter and premium charcoals

From what I've seen Royal oak is the preferred brand. In my bath the fan comes on with the lights. There is a consistent high failure rate for this method. Even in tent needs to be covered by a tarp. The bathroom is too much square footage, I suppose you could always set up the tent and tarp in the bathroom.

The fact that your feeling pain doesent sound good, failures with this method can cause kidney damage, I failed in a car with 5kg, no pain though.

I hope you feel better and are ok.

thank you for the tips, the bathroom is not actually too much square footage, 1.5 x 2m, very small I will attempt this again with briquette charcoals... I still feel pain, my arms, shoulder, legs, I think it is mostly due to the position I was in the bathroom. oh man, this is my method, it has to work, what is your opinion on a 1.5x2m bathroom ?

Co is heavier than air and will settle at the lowest point, there have been cases in tents that the person facing down died, while the person facing up on there back sleeping survived. Everything has to be tapped bottom of door top of door and all along the edges, cieling fan ect. because the gas is hot it will first rise and seek excape then sink to the bottom of the floor. The more coals you use the greater your chance of success provided the area is fully sealed, Co has some ability to go through walls, a high gloss paint will be less permeable than a flat white paint, this may be why in accounts I've read most of the successful suicides have been in new construction (millionaire who got caught stealing from the govt.)

I understand, thank you very much for the info, certainly covers many of the mistakes I have made. So just to sum it up, the paint on the ceiling can be a problem as well ?

Very little, on the ceiling, but if there is a window it would be worth sealing it up. If there are plug ins I would tape those, those just lead into either a plastic or metal box inside a large area of wall when it's cold out you can feel quit a bit of air circulating.
