Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Hey, i send exit International an Email that i would like to get a member to Support the activism and that i would like to get access to the forum. I told her about my incurable neurobiological illness, that all treatment failed for 3 years and that i am disabled in day to Day torture. This Was the Response.

Jesus. That's a really insensitive and invalidating response. "Get a life instead"? Fuck's sake. I'm so sorry.
Also, for me it just kinda gives the impression that they're of the belief that only people who are 50+ are valid in their suffering and therefore the only ones who deserve access to community support and the means to a peaceful end to said suffering, when the unfortunate reality is that debilitating illness and suffering don't give a shit about how old you are, how good of a person you are, how much potential you have, etc. Maybe I'm oversensitive, but that's the vibe I get, and it doesn't sit well with me at all.
I'm so sorry that you're going through all of this. Life really is so cruel.

Is this a joke? It has to be, there is NO WAY they could have replied on that way, everything fine with the first paragraph but that "get a life" is completely uncalled for, don't they know who they are dealing with? I guess even on that place they are still full of sh*t.

Are you kidding ? I had a life and lost it due too my incurable health disease. Seeing docs for 3 years and tried countless treatments till there were no more options left. I am from Germany so i had access to the most promising treatment options. But here I am disabled and without a future in horrible depriving agony every second of my existince. A level of suffering that is beyond what a healthy human could ever imagine. I cant believe to get the Response from a exit International Organisation. It is so disrespectful ignorant and unempathatic. Of course i would love to "get a life". And i love life. But hard to have a life when u are pretty much disabled and can do anything anymore in this life. If you are so unrealistic to think just because I am young you cant get a chronichly incurable ill that I death would not be a rational Option and give Such an uninformed advice without knowing anything about the effort in getting better and my day to day horrible horrible suffering you maybe should reeducate yourself before working in exit International. I am speechless. I understand that there is an age Limit. But this ignorant advice to a sick Person is absurd
This is really terrible. I'm sorry you had to go through that. It completely invalidates the suffering are going through. Of course you deserve a peaceful exit at a time of your own choosing, but the society tries to force us to live. It is cruel how they just expect you to suffer like that. I hope you find peace.

This is awful and insensitive. Even Exit is a business I guess. No one really cares about our sufferings except the people in these forums. Sad. Sorry for your suffering stopthepain.

I can't express how disappointed I am. Reading "get a life"... made me feel like I came home early to catch my spouse having an affair with someone I thought was a close friend. I'm so hurt by this I can't even read the other comments in this thread. Just hurt and even more depressed--but I'm saving this thread as proof we're on our own. Thanks, OP, for sharing.

might be that English isn't the first language of the person and they were hoping you found reasons to live, but it came out wrong. "Get a life" the way we think it's meant here is weird thing to say in the same sentence that acknowledges you have medical issues

I also wonder if English is not Jills primary language, but in any case, Exit international doesn't practice what they preach. they claim that the right to die is a fundamental human right. Yet they limit it to middle-aged/ senior citizens over 50?. 50 is an arbitrary number. Why not 25? 25 Is apparently the age where the brain is fully developed, or so I've heard. I can only conclude that they are not a pro-choice organization but simply think seniors deserve a good death since they've "earned" it and no one else. Seems very ageist to me. Every adult of sound mind deserves the freedom to choose for themselves.

That feels like bullying a disabled person, it is quite disturbing.
Doesn't "exit international" collaborate with Pegasos?
I remember that ppl that are accepted for an assisted death at Pegasos and that cannot bring any relative or friend during the event, are recommended to subscribe to "exit international", pay all the fees and request that one of their volunteers joins the event as a witness.
How comes that they treat a person in physical pain so unrespectfully and then they collaborate with Pegasos to spill money from a dying person?
Ouch. I am unable to 'get a life' too due to my incurable and degenerative illness. I am now incontinent, can't eat properly, can't sleep without medicine, in pain constantly and with serious fatigue and brain fog. I get that in order to be somewhat tolerated by the countries in which they operate, Exit sticks to minimum age etc. But in doing so it does seem to imply that those younger can't suffer from failing bodies and subsequent very poor quality of life. Although they have the right to their membership guidelines, the current guidelines still don't feel fair for someone like me, but what's worse is the way she said it. Cruel basically. Clearly she has never suffered from having everything taken away by a disease.

Omg what ?? Sorry but that made me laugh out loud Are they for real ? Couldn't possibly be a typo or something?
I know Philip Nitschke doesn't actually hold the belief that such info should be restricted to the over 50s only, he believes any rational adult(18+) should have the right to choose, but they kinda just have to keep the forum to the over 50s at the moment to protect themselves legally etc.
I think Jill needs to be sacked lol
