I don't want to whine too much about it. But I just don't want to fucking exist with this pain, my life is already very bad and this is just making every experience five times worse. I have been to my doctor and she just asked my if I drink enough water and told me to take painkillers. I guess I could just go to private doctor, but it's going to be another half year of waiting before they find out what's causing it. I just can't wait that long, if this is keeps getting stronger at some point it will be more painful just to exist than it would be to commit suicide.

I don't know how old you are but I have had intractable migraine and cluster headaches my entire life. And you can toss in the plain Jane tension headaches, too, from damage done to my neck when I was a kid -- my mom LOVED to shake me until I passed out.

Your post about your doctors makes me angry because I have been treated the same way. It is infuriating. And I don't put up with it anymore. A doctor gets condescending or dismissive with me and I will call them out in a heartbeat.

I am SO sorry you are going thru this -- I am gonna list for you what I take when my headaches are at their worst. Maybe you can find a combination that will help lessen your pain a little bit.

Excedrin Migraine -- your doctor will tell you that, because you are taking this, that your headaches are rebound headaches and you need to stop taking it and just gut it out until they go away. Fuck them. Excedrin will cause rebound headaches in some people it they take it every day at the max dose. I take it several times a week and have not had rebound headaches.

Benedryl -- 50 mg of Benedryl will help take the edge off a bit. Also makes me sleepy but hey! If I have a migraine that has woken me up in the middle of the night, not getting any sleep is gonna make it worse, so ... Taking Benedryl long term has been linked to developing a heightened risk for dementia, so, like with the Excedrin, use judiciously.

The stuff listed below I take regularly: OmegaXL -- an omega supplement -- twice a day

MetanxFC -- it's a prescription supplement prescribed by my pain management doc -- also twice a day.

Percocet -- 10mg -- as needed for break-thru pain, up to 4 tablets a day

Gabapentin -- 600mg -- 2 tablets every evening for break-thru pain and neuropathy. Sometimes I have to take one in the morning. Just depends on how bad my head hurts.

Buprenorphine -- I cannot think of the dosage off the top of my head, but I take it twice a day.

Stand your ground, sweetie. If a doctor won't take you seriously find another one. The amount of bullshit we have to put up with as chronic headache sufferers is absolutely abhorrent.

Could it be stress or anxiety induced? I get headaches the more anxious and stressed I am. Sorry that you're going through this and I hope you get it figured out soon.

Thanks for the tips. I was scared to take painkillers because of the rebound headaches, but I guess taking it few times a week is ok.

I guess I probably have chronic sinus infection, because of my allergies. At least I hope it is that. So it's possible I will have it fixed eventually with the right treatment. Who knows maybe I will even get my will to live back.

Hey!! I sure hope the Excedrin helps you. I forgot to mention something else -- NEVER use a heat pack on your neck or head. I sleep with this huge ice pack on my pillow (and just lay my head on it and bunch it up under my neck so it supports my neck a little if I'm really, really bad -- like last night. If it's so bad I'm tempted to go to the ER (which is bullshit -- I'll die first) then I will put an ice pack on the back of my neck/head and one over my eyes/forehead. Yeah, I'm a hot mess sometimes! Lol

I do hope you are feeling better.

I know the feeling. This may sound weird to others, but between regular headaches (mostly bad tension ones for me) and when I went through several years with sinus issues, and therefore got tons of sinus headaches, half the time I couldn't identify which type I even had! Ended it all just mixed together anyway.

My mom was a huge migraine sufferer So I have some idea of how it feels ( luckily I will say both issues got much better for me when I stopped working and when I moved) and also I've seen up close how it can be detrimental to quality of life.

Hope you get some relief. It's a crapshoot playing with meds if you are at the stage where you need prescription ones. I remember Excedrin being recalled and hard to find at one point here and me and others were inconsolable without it.

And just throwing in my few cents about something that helps me- by mid afternoon I know if I have one of those type of headaches that is just not going to go away until I wake up the next morning after a good night sleep. I like Excedrin p.m. As far as sleep, it does absolutely nothing to me personally to make me sleepy. So sometimes I'll take it in the early evening way before I would go to bed and it will start providing some relief. And then, if you are able to sleep the rest of it off all the better.

Hope you find something that offers relief

I use to have terrible migraines and if it's ok can I offer some advice. Try to keep a headache diary. The diary should include what you were doing prior to headache, location of the headache, medication you took, and did it help at all. You can always add more if you feel up to it.

Ask for a neurologist referral. They gave me 3 different medication. A daily medication, one to take upon a migraine starting and so many shots I could take a month when a full migraine started.

Things that helped me: Drink caffeine when you have a headache. (I was drinking too much caffeine so I stopped drinking caffeine). Apply peppermint oil behind your ears. (I put it on my forehead too and sniff it).

I hope the doctors can get to the bottom of this soon because that's a pain that will drive you crazy!
