I think sentimentality is actually a pernicious form of evil. But maybe all emotions are, really. I don't think there are really any redeemable aspects of life in the end. It's a trap to keep people suffering and whenever there is anything "good" it's just to set up a greater possibility of suffering later on. This world is evil and the only escape is "self-delivery" as some people put it.
