that is very typical for these clinical sociopathsWhen a person "needs" 1 TRILLION dollars to be motivated, then there is fundamentally something wrong with the picture and the person. Telsa board. if I understand it correctly, has granted him a TRILLION dollar pay package.
At least in my point of view, if a person wants to help humanity move forward, it does NOT have to include obscene amounts of money.
All my business life, I have been exposed to ego, greed and everything that goes along with it and it never fails to see people who are totally self-absorbed and so out of touch with the icing on the cake of them "thinking" that they have ALL the answers.
Any one worth their salt understands that it takes EVERYONE with their own unique talents and viewpoints to move life forward, NOT just one person, nope never ever.
Some day in the future he will be like Edison and so many others that are remembered, BUT in passing only and the greater good will be thought of much more.

It deeply troubles me that humans will start depleting other resources in space. I tend to share the bleak outlook on humans that 'Agent Smith' does in 'The Matrix'. That we are a disease that engulfs and consumes everything in our wake till we obliterate it all and have to find somewhere else to leach off of. Isn't it enough we've f*cked up planet earth? I'd personally prefer it if we stayed contained here.
I suppose maybe if these other places are lifeless, it might not be so bad but, you can bet we won't be good at sharing should we ever come across another living thing that needs the same things we do. Even if they were there first...
I really don't like Musk. I think he's cruel. It depresses me someone like that does so well in this world.

vivisection causes me mentally and emotionally unbearable pain, because of this I suffer from anxiety, nightmares and ocd, that is why I despise people like Elon MuskI'm not here to defend Elon but I think our anger can be misplaced at times. Just my opinion. But a lot of his wealth is tied to the value of stock in companies he has helped create. So idk to me what's worse is Wall Street. Activist investors and private equity. Quickly ruining every industry they touch. Everything. Many of these people are ultra wealthy but not billionaires.
I think they're all too clouded by greed to be good for society. I don't see a solution though. No political group in the world is going after these people. They own our politicians.

There's definitely a discussion to be had about the accumulation of wealth.
I'm not opposed to crazy sci fi tech, though. Resources could have been spent in much worse ways.
I sympathize with your views when it comes to earth. I don't see the problem with exploiting space and barren rocks, though.
I envision the next wave of colonization to be uncontested, and without the problems of the past.

Once upon a time I was a big Elon fan. Then at some point he just . . . lost his shit. Or maybe just showed the world who he really is. With how he acts publicly, it seems like he cares about the idea of humanity but doesn't actually care about people. Could be wrong, don't know him ofc, just the impression I get.

Can't stand him. If he wasn't famous/rich he probably would be one of those "Pickle Rick Bong, Crypto/NFT cheeto fingered Reddit incel" genre of guys who spends too much time on the internet.
Also as an autistic person I can kinda see some of my own faults (like appearing cold/robotic and emotionally blunted, being social awkward, spending too much time on the internet, etc) in him and it gives me secondhand embarrassment and he is just. Overall yucky and gross. He is a prick. I would rather be compared to Sheldon than Musk. Sheldon is annoying too, but at least Sheldon is fictional.

Pretty sure all his children are going to end up as multi billion dollar trust fund babies.
He once said parents are responsible for their children because children don't choose to come into this world. Parents decide that for them. So at least I think he'll take care of them financially.
